  Superstars

On Monday 14th June a group of 10 Frogmore PE students took part in a Superstars event at Calthorpe Park School. The squad of students were chosen for their all-round ability at sport for a ‘Multi-Event’ competition.  Superstars, just like the TV programme, is designed to find the best overall PE/sport students in North East Hants. Competitions faced by the students included a swim sprint, target throwing, a duathlon (run-cycle-run), rowing and fitness tests such as vertical jumping.  Our students’ plethora of sporting wits was pitted against the best of the local students from other schools!

The students had a great time being the competitive types that they are and relished testing their talents against the best! The activities lasted three hours and with the students on their last legs we drew the event to a close to read out the results.  Any student finishing in the top 3 would be asked to represent North East Hants School Sports Partnership in the county wide event to be held at Hamble School in Southampton on July 2nd.  The tension was immense!  The results were:

Year 7 Boys - 2nd place Matt Stevens Year 7 Girls - 3rd place Sophie Kelly

Year 7 Girls Winner - Alisha Edwards Year 8 Boys - Frazer McCambridge-Heal - 3rd place!

Year 9 Boys - Jacob Smith 2nd place Year 9 Boys Winner - Harry Bowman

Overall winning school.............FROGMORE!

The whole squad of ten students all played a massive part in winning the competition with all their scores going on to determining the final result. I would like to congratulate them all and thank them for their excellent effort. The names of all students are below:

Year 7 - Matt Stevens (2nd), Toby Flower, Alisha Edwards (1st), Sophie Kelly (3rd).

Year 8 - Frazer McCambridge-Heal (3rd), Dominique Munday.

Year 9 - Harry Bowman (1st), Jacob Smith (2nd), Tazmin Kenny, Chloe Stephens.

Congratulations also to Charlie Sandford in Year 8. Charlie was due to compete in this event, but sadly injured his shoulder whilst representing Frogmore at the County athletics tournament the day before in the Year 9 shot-putt.  However, he still achieved a brilliant 5th place overall, just 9 cm short of a medal!
